Thomas West: Afghans faced great challenges last year

The US special representative for Afghanistan says that Afghans have faced great challenges in the past year.

Thomas West, the US special representative for Afghanistan affairs, said in a tweet on the occasion of New Year (Nowruz) that Afghans have faced great challenges in the past year.

He added, “We are with the Afghans and we reiterate our commitment to support all of them in their efforts for a better tomorrow.”

The US special representative in Afghanistan called Nowruz auspicious and the beginning of spring and expressed hope that Afghan girls and women will return to school and work. According to him, women’s participation in society will create a brighter future for the country.
