Zalmai Khalilzad arrived in Kabul

Some sources in the National Reconciliation Council have said that Zalmai Khalilzad arrived in Kabul today (Tuesday, 5th of January).

According to Pakistani media, Zalmai Khalilzad was in Pakistan yesterday and met with Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Staff of the Pakistan Army, to discuss cooperation in the Afghan peace process.

A new round of peace talks between the Afghan government and the Taliban is scheduled to begin in the Qatari capital on Tuesday.

The delegation was supposed to go to Doha yesterday, but due to the weather, their trip will take place today
