Mujahid: We do not want to hinder the activities of the United Nations in Afghanistan

Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman of the caretaker government of the Taliban, in response to the recent announcement by UNAMA regarding the banning of women from working in UN offices in Afghanistan, said that this is an internal issue and the Islamic Emirate does not want to hinder the activities of the UN.

In a statement, the spokesman of the Taliban pointed out that the Islamic Emirate does not want to create obstacles for the United Nations, but wants to make it clear that the issue of women’s work is an internal issue of Afghanistan and does not cause problems for anyone else, and all sides should respect it.

Mr. Mujahid added that the humanitarian situation in Afghanistan has worsened due to sanctions and pressures, and the main responsibility lies with those parties who have imposed restrictions on the financial and banking system of Afghanistan.

The spokesman of the Taliban called for the lifting of banking sanctions and the liberation of Afghanistan’s assets and added that Afghans have the ability to stand on their own feet using their capacities and facilities.
