The Taliban delegation headed by Amir Khan Motaghi met with the American delegation in Doha

Abdul Qahar Balkhi, the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Taliban, says that the delegation of the Islamic Emirate, headed by Amir Khan Motaghi, the head of the ministry, talked with Tom West, the special representative of the United States for Afghanistan affairs, and his accompanying delegation in Doha.

He wrote in a tweet that in this meeting, there was a discussion on building trust between the two sides, taking practical steps in this direction, removing blacklists and lifting sanctions, freeing the reserves of Da Afghanistan Bank, maintaining the economic stability of Afghanistan, fighting against drugs and human rights issues.

At the same time, the US State Department said in a statement that the US delegation expressed concern about the arrests, suppression of the media and restrictions on religious practices and asked the Taliban to stop the policies that cause the deterioration of the human rights situation in Afghanistan, especially for Change women, girls and vulnerable communities.

The ministry added that US officials continue to insist on the immediate and unconditional release of detained American citizens, noting that these detentions are a significant obstacle to positive engagement.

In this meeting, the fight against smuggling and poppy cultivation and the fight against terrorism were also discussed.
