Amir Khan Motaghi met with a delegation from Iran’s House of Representatives

Zia Ahmad Takal, Deputy Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, says that Amir Khan Motaghi, the Acting Minister of the Ministry, met with a delegation from the Iranian House of Representatives headed by Javad Karimi.

He wrote in a series of tweets that in the meeting security, fight against drugs, prevention of smuggling, border protection and trade were discussed in detail.

The Deputy Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that Amir Khan Motaghi said in this meeting that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has taken effective steps in the fight against narcotics and poppy cultivation has decreased to almost zero.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized that Afghanistan is a good market for Iranian industries, therefore it is necessary for Afghanistan and Iran to create more facilities in the trade and transit sector and make optimal use of this opportunity.

In this meeting, the Iranian delegation emphasized that Iran is ready to share its experiences with Afghanistan in various cases, and said that both sides should work together on preventing smuggling, managing border problems, and preventing the movement of unauthorized persons.
