16 million people received aid from the World Food Program in the first half of this year

The World Food Program has announced that this organization has provided food aid to more than 16 million people in Afghanistan in the first half of this year.

This organization wrote in a tweet that half of the needy people who received help are women and girls.

Earlier, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Aid (OCHA) said in a report that the poverty rate in Afghanistan has increased by 50% in the last three years.

This organization called the decrease in income, unemployment and increase in rates among the factors of increasing poverty in Afghanistan and added that the rate of poverty in this country has increased from 47% to 97%.

In his report, Ucha called for immediate measures to end poverty in Afghanistan.
