The head of UNAMA met with Abbas Stanekzai

Roza Atunbayeva, the special representative of the UN Secretary General and head of UNAMA, met with Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanekzai, the political deputy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate.

Hafiz Zia Ahmad, the deputy spokesperson of the Ministry, wrote on X’s social page that in this meeting, regional coordination, fight against drug cultivation and trafficking, methods of revitalizing private trade and banking sector, mine clearance activities and other issues were discussed.

In this meeting, the representative of UNAMA presented information about his recent trip to the United Nations and added that in addition to food security, the United Nations is trying to fight drug cultivation and trafficking in Afghanistan.

The Political Deputy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate also said in this meeting that humanitarian affairs should be separate from politics and that political differences should not prevent interaction in humanitarian aid, the fight against drugs, mine clearance and other fields.
