The United Nations reported a 95% decrease in drug cultivation in Afghanistan

In its latest report, the United Nations has reported a 95% reduction in drug cultivation in Afghanistan.

The new report of the United Nations Office on Crime and Narcotics published yesterday (Sunday) states that opium cultivation in Afghanistan has decreased by 95% compared to 2022.

According to the evaluations of this department, cultivation of materials in all parts of Afghanistan has decreased from 233 thousand hectares of land to 10 thousand hectares.

In a part of the report of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, it is stated: “After the prohibition of drug cultivation in Afghanistan, in 2023, drug cultivation has decreased to 95 percent, and opium cultivation has also decreased in all parts of Afghanistan.”

Last year, the Taliban government banned the cultivation and trafficking of drugs in Afghanistan and ordered the destruction of drug farms throughout the country.
