The powerful floods of Farah and Ghor took the lives of 14 people

At least fourteen people died in Farah and Ghor provinces in strong floods two days ago.
According to local officials, hundreds of residential houses and thousands of acres of agricultural land were also destroyed in these floods.
Mohammad Israel Siyar, head of the Farah Natural Disaster Management Department, told TOLOnews: “In the floods of Farah Province, 11 people were martyred and four people are injured. Also, 6,567 solar mirrors were destroyed and 580 houses were completely and partially destroyed. “Also, 1,990 kilometers of roads have been destroyed.”
Juma Gul, one of Farah’s farmers, said: “I have rented this land and cultivated it with the help of workers; But all is lost.”
Three people died and nearly 700 residential houses were destroyed in the floods two days ago in Marghab, Tiureh and Chaharsedeh districts of Ghor province.
Mohammad Amin, a resident of Margab Ghor district, said: “The flood water has reached the sea and completely destroyed all the houses. “We managed to save several families with great difficulty.”
Khalil Ahmad, another resident of Marghab district, said: “People’s property and everything has been flooded and the flood is still coming.”
The Ministry of Migrants and Returnees Affairs has said that nearly a thousand families from the center and district of Margab Ghor have been displaced due to floods. Most of the people and farmers in the flooded areas of Ghor have lost their houses, gardens and fields.
Mohammad Qasim, a resident of Marghab Ghor district, said: “Everything we had was flooded last night. We ask the Islamic Emirate to cooperate with us.”
The floods of the past three days in fourteen provinces of the country have caused casualties and huge financial losses to the people. These floods mostly occurred in distant villages and people are in dire need of help after losing their shelter and property.
