A two-day meeting of civil society members was held in Oslo, the capital of Norway, with the presence of Richard Bennett, the UN special rapporteur on human rights in Afghanistan, and the meeting was hosted by the Human Rights Research Association.

This association wrote on its user page on X on Tuesday night (Thor 25) that the topics discussed at the Oslo meeting include the continued need for humanitarian financial aid, increasing protection opportunities for Afghans at risk, the upcoming Doha meeting, the upcoming Richard Bennett report and recommendations. To avoid “normalization without change was provable”.

The Human Rights Research Association added that during the meeting with the civil society, Richard Bennett discussed the rights of women and girls in Afghanistan, accountability processes for human rights violations and the environmental effects of war on children and future generations.
