A roadside bomb blast in Herat has killed and injured five people

Two soldiers were killed and three others were wounded when a roadside bomb exploded on the Herat-Islam Qala highway.

Herat police spokesman Abdul Ahad Valizadeh said the incident took place at around 10:40 a.m. today (Wednesday, February 17) as a result of security force’s vehicle  colliding with a roadside mine as it was heading to the port of Islam Qala.

No one has yet claimed responsibility for the incident.
