Parwan Residents Urge Completion of 200-Bed Hospital

A number of Parwan residents are demanding the completion of the province’s 200-bed hospital project.

They say that with the increasing population and seasonal disease outbreaks, the 100-bed hospital in Parwan is no longer sufficient to meet patients’ needs.

“Every day, many patients lose their lives while being transferred to Kabul and other provinces. We urge the authorities to prioritize the completion of this hospital,” said Mirhaji Hufiani, a resident of Parwan.
“The construction of a 200-bed hospital is a basic necessity for the people and should be completed as soon as possible,” said Zabihullah, another resident of Parwan.

The construction of the 200-bed civilian hospital in Parwan began during the previous government and has progressed 80%, but it was halted for unknown reasons.

Meanwhile, local officials say that the budget for the project’s completion has been allocated, and practical work will begin soon.

“So far, 80% of the hospital’s work has been completed, and the budget for the remaining 20% has been allocated. It is expected that the project will resume next year and be completed within six months,” said Mohammad Idris Anwari, the governor of Parwan.
According to local officials, about 35 healthcare centers in Parwan lack standard buildings, and some of them operate in rented houses.
