Israeli sources: US to withdraw thousands of troops from Syria

The Israeli Kan network reported that White House officials have informed the regime that Trump intends to withdraw thousands of American troops stationed in Syria.

According to this official Israeli network, the withdrawal of American troops from Syria has caused concern in Tel Aviv and is expected to weaken Kurdish militias in Syria.

Israeli officials are concerned about the weakening of Kurdish militias who seek to divide Syria or form an independent confederation (known as Rojava), while Israeli circles have previously repeatedly spoken of the need for Tel Aviv to support Kurdish militias.

The report added that “the withdrawal of American forces from Syria will cause significant concerns in Tel Aviv and is expected to weaken Kurdish militias in Syria.”

According to a Pentagon announcement in December, the US has deployed about 2,000 troops in Syria.
