Islamabad: Bilateral Cooperation with Kabul Conditional

Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has described utilizing regional potential as beneficial for both Afghanistan and Pakistan, stating that Islamabad will continue to engage with Afghanistan to seize these opportunities.
The spokesperson for Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Shafqat Ali Khan, reiterated that terrorism-related issues remain a key topic in discussions with Afghanistan. He emphasized that without resolving these challenges, bilateral cooperation between the two countries will not be feasible.
A part of the statement from Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry reads: “We continue to remain engaged with Afghanistan, and also make them realize that the long-term potential of the region, the bilateral cooperation and what it can bring for the benefit or welfare of the two countries will remain unmet unless this problem is resolved.”
The Islamic Emirate has not yet commented on the contents of Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry statement; however, it previously stated that Pakistan’s security challenges are linked to its internal political and economic problems.
Meanwhile, Amir Khan Muttaqi, acting foreign minister of Afghanistan, previously expressed the Islamic Emirate’s readiness to engage in dialogue with Pakistan regarding issues related to Afghanistan.
Janat Faheem Chakari, a political analyst, told : “Efforts should be made to find suitable diplomatic and economic solutions so that both Afghanistan and Pakistan can achieve economic and political growth.”
Another political analyst, Mohammad Aslam Danishmal, stated: “There is a need to reconsider the failed policies that have been employed, apologize for them, and enter a new chapter of engagement with Afghanistan, focusing on regional security.”
A day earlier, the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the President of Turkey discussed the formation of an inclusive government, the fight against terrorism, and the continuation of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, emphasizing their support for a peaceful Afghanistan.
