G7 Foreign Ministers Emphasize Support for Ukraine, Increase Pressure on Russia

The G7 foreign ministers and the EU High Representative met on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference and issued a statement on issues such as the Russia-Ukraine war.
The statement emphasized financial support for Ukraine from the proceeds of Russia’s frozen assets, increasing pressure on Moscow if honest negotiations are not held, setting a ceiling on oil and gas prices, and strengthening sanctions against Russia.
The G7 ministers also discussed political, security, and humanitarian issues in the Middle East, including the situation in Israel, the Gaza Strip, Lebanon, and Syria.
