Ministry of Commerce: Support for Private Sector Boosts Export Growth

The Academy of Sciences of Afghanistan organized a scientific-research seminar in Kabul under the title “Economic Responsibilities of the Islamic System.”
During the event, Nooruddin Azizi, Acting Minister of Commerce, emphasized that the Islamic Emirate’s support for the private sector has led to the growth of Afghanistan’s trade, with the country’s exports seeing a significant increase compared to the Republic era.
He stated: “Claims that the Islamic Emirate receives aid from the Americans are false. If such aid existed, I would be the first to know. Not a single rupee reaches the Islamic Emirate.”
Abdul Latif Nazari, Deputy Minister of Economy, said that Afghanistan has achieved significant success by pursuing a policy of domestic resource growth.
He added: “The Islamic Emirate, considering the structure of the Islamic system and Afghanistan’s historical, cultural, religious, and national values, strives to manage the country’s economy through self-reliance and endogenous growth.”
Mohammad Younus Momand, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Investment, stated: “Mechanizing agriculture, standardizing agricultural products, extracting minerals, expanding the industrial sector, and strengthening trade relations with foreign countries are crucial for Afghanistan’s economic progress.”
According to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, supporting the private sector, allocating land to increase domestic production, expanding agriculture to achieve self-sufficiency, and establishing mineral processing factories to boost exports have been among the fundamental initiatives of the Islamic Emirate over the past three years, which have kept Afghanistan’s economic situation relatively stable.
