Home Delivery of Passports: New Memorandum Signed

The General Directorate of Passports and Afghan Post signed a memorandum yesterday (Wednesday) to facilitate the passport issuance process for citizens.

According to this memorandum, from now on, citizens can receive their passports at their doorstep by paying 100 Afghanis.

Abdul Karim Hasib, the Director General of Passports, called this memorandum an important step in providing convenience for citizens and spoke about the department’s future plans and initiatives to further simplify the passport issuance process.

The Director General of Passports added: “Today, Alhamdulillah, we have reached a stage where we can sign a memorandum with Afghan Post, allowing individuals who wish to obtain their passport to receive it at their doorstep for a payment of 100 Afghanis.”

Rahmatullah Maki, the Director General of Afghan Post, stated that this memorandum was signed to facilitate the passport issuance process for applicants across the country.

Maki further explained: “When our employee is informed that you want to apply for a passport, you will need to complete the biometric process. After that, your passport will be delivered to your doorstep. If it is ready today, it will be delivered the same day. If it takes until tomorrow, it will be printed and dispatched accordingly.”

At the same time, several residents of the capital have praised the signing of this memorandum between the two departments.

Samir Ahmad, a Kabul resident, said: “Our fellow citizens who applied for a passport had to wait for a long time. This initiative can solve that issue and is a great step forward.”

According to officials, this process began in Kabul on Wednesday, February 26. It will also be implemented in Herat, Kandahar, Balkh, and Jalalabad in the upcoming solar year (1403).
