Muttaqi: Islamic Emirate Won’t Oppose One Country for Another

The acting minister of foreign affairs, Amir Khan Muttaqi, stated in a meeting with Afghan traders in Oman that the Islamic Emirate has adopted a balanced policy and will not engage in conflict with one country for the happiness of another.
In part of his speech, Muttaqi mentioned that he discussed visa issues and the transfer of Afghan prisoners with Omani officials.
During his meeting with Afghan traders residing in Oman, he emphasized that the Islamic Emirate maintains good relations with the international community and aims for Afghanistan to be a hub for economy and transit rather than negative rivalries.
Regarding this, Amir Khan Muttaqi said: “A balanced policy means that we do not fight one country for the happiness of another, nor do we oppose one country for the sake of another. We want normal relations with everyone.”
The acting foreign minister also described relations with Oman as positive and added that discussions were held with Omani officials on issuing visas for Afghans and the release and transfer of Afghan prisoners back to their country.
Muttaqi added: “They expressed hope that, God willing, we will work together in all these areas, and they will invest in Afghanistan. We had positive discussions regarding facilities for our citizens, future movement, trade, transit, and the issue of prisoners.”
This is Amir Khan Muttaqi’s first visit to Oman, aimed at expanding political and economic relations.
