Taliban ‘food blockade’ in Jund district of Badghis

Amrullah Saleh; The first vice president says the Taliban have placed the Jund district of Badghis under a “food siege” and for some time now have tortured and even killed people for transporting bread.

The First Vice President praised the resistance of the people of Jund Badghis on his Facebook page today (Monday, March 29) and added that the siege will be broken soon.

He added: “Not only has the Taliban not changed; Rather, it has become wilder, more ignorant, and more complex. The food siege of Jund puts another disgraceful stain on Talib’s record.

Amrullah Saleh also said that the government has started trying to get food to the people of Jund.

Jund is one of the most insecure districts in Badghis, where the Taliban have a strong presence in various parts of that, which has increased insecurity and public concern.
