New wave of protests in the US; protesters demand Trump’s removal

Thousands of American citizens took to the streets to protest the immigration policies and executive decisions of President Donald Trump.

These protests were held on Saturday, April 19, under the title “Don’t Touch” in more than 400 locations in different US states.

Protesters in New York, Washington, Texas and San Francisco condemned the government’s strict policies towards immigrants with slogans such as “There is no monarchy in America”, “Immigrants are welcome” and “Impeach”.

In Washington, a number of protesters called Trump’s actions a “direct attack on the law” and expressed concern about the violation of the democratic process in his government.

In San Francisco, protesters formed the words “Impeachment and Removal” by standing together on the beach and raised the American flag upside down as a sign of protest.

The group organizing these protests, called “50501,” has said that their goal is a rapid and widespread response to the illegal and anti-democratic actions of the Trump administration.
