Chinese, Russian Foreign Ministers Meet

The Chinese Foreign Ministry announced that Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on the sidelines of the BRICS Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry announced on Monday evening, April 28, that Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on the sidelines of the BRICS Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The ministry quoted Wang Yi as saying: “The game between unilateralism and multilateralism has intensified, and the competition between maintaining hegemony and countering hegemony is underway around the world.”
The Chinese Foreign Ministry did not release further details of the meeting.
