A Torkham border guard was arrested for beating a man

The Ministry of Interior announces the arrest of a soldier of Torkham Commissar on charges of beating a person.

Tariq Arian wrote on his Facebook page that the soldier, named Zakir, had been detained by the Ministry of Interior’s internal security and was being monitored and investigated.

Mr. Arian also wrote that such an approach is not acceptable.

This is the second Torkham border officer to be arrested by the Interior Ministry on charges of beating.

Recently, a video was shared on social media of a woman being beaten by a Torkham border soldier.

Although at that time Tariq Arian; Interior ministry spokesman said the video was from previous years, but Mr. Arian announced the soldier’s dismissal.

In response, Mr. Arian said at the time that “raising the hand on women is a Taliban culture, and anyone who commits this atrocity is a terrorist.”
