Israeli company NSO ordered to pay $168 million to Meta in US

After six years of legal wrangling, a jury in California has ruled that NSO, the maker of Israeli spyware Pegasus, must pay $168 million (over 605 million shekels) to Meta, the owner of Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram, the Hebrew-language newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported.
The ruling follows NSO’s illegal hacking of WhatsApp servers using the Pegasus software, which targeted around 1,400 users in various countries, including journalists, human rights activists and diplomats.
