Pentagon increases funding for Ukraine’s ERAM missile development

The Pentagon has allocated $67.3 million to accelerate the development of Ukraine’s long-range ERAM (Extended Range Attack Munition) missiles, Sputnik reported.

Instead of a single contract, Pentagon documents show that two separate, parallel prototype projects with significant financial commitments to prepare the weapons for production have been funded.

CoAspire LLC of Fairfax, Virginia, received $33.8 million, an increase of $13.2 million from the original budget.

Zone 5 Technologies LLC of San Luis Obispo, California, also received a parallel contract worth $33.5 million, an increase of $7.7 million from the original budget.

Earlier reports had emerged that the Trump administration had approved the sale of 3,350 ERAM missiles with a range of up to 450 kilometers to Ukraine.

The missiles, part of an $850 million aid package, are scheduled to be delivered to Ukrainian forces in the coming weeks.
