Three border guards were killed in Takhar by a Taliban drone strike

Local sources in Takhar reported that six border guards were killed and wounded in a Taliban drone strike in the province.

Mohammad Azam Afzali; A member of the Takhar Provincial Council said that the incident took place last night at the I khanum border crossing in Dasht-e-Qala district of Takhar province.

He says Taliban fighters attacked a security checkpoint last night (Tuesday, April 27) using armed drones.

Mr. Afzali added that three border guards were killed and three others were wounded in the incident.

According to Mr. Afzali, the wounded have not yet been taken to hospital due to threats from Taliban fighters, but efforts are underway to transfer them.

The Taliban have not yet commented.
