Mujahid: U.S. Attacked Afghanistan Without Proper Investigation

Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesperson of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, told in connection with the September 11 events that Washington accused Afghanistan and the Islamic Emirate without proper investigation and then carried out a military attack.
According to him, Osama bin Laden, then-leader of al-Qaeda, had come to Afghanistan before the establishment of the Islamic Emirate, and during the Emirate’s rule he was under restricted and controlled conditions.
Mujahid added: “The Islamic Emirate proposed to them that if you have accusations against Osama bin Laden, there are two ways: one, pursue the case in Afghan courts for transparent investigation; and if you are not confident, for greater credibility, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, and another Islamic country could form a joint court to handle the case.”
He stressed that the Islamic Emirate will not allow Afghan soil to be used against any country, including the United States.
Mujahid also referred to the Doha Agreement and called on the U.S. to normalize its policy toward Afghanistan and start official engagement with the Afghan government.
“We want the U.S. to change its unusual past policies and for Afghanistan to have good relations with all countries,” he said.
Meanwhile, the U.S. president, in a recent interview with Fox News, described the violence in Chicago as “worse than Afghanistan.”
Donald Trump said: “They’re losing 6, 7, 8, 9 people every week. And 30 or 40 are being shot. That’s worse than Afghanistan. That’s worse. There’s no city like that.”
Since the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan in August 2021, relations between Kabul and Washington remain in a state of uncertainty. The U.S. has not recognized the Islamic Emirate government, and part of Afghanistan’s assets remain frozen in foreign banks.
