Heavy rains and floods in Herat killed 14 people

Local sources in Herat report that 14 people died due to rain and floods in Adraskan district of the province.

Jilani Farhad; Spokesman for the governor of Herat said that 14 people had died as a result of heavy rains and floods in Rokha village of Adraskan district of the province, and several houses in the village had been destroyed.

Mr. Farhad added that those killed in the incident included a woman, four children and five men, and that the identities of the other victims were still unknown.

Officials in Herat province continue to report floods in Obe and Karkh districts of the province, but their casualties are still unknown.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Ghor, Baghlan and Maidan Wardak provinces also witnessed floods the day before.
