Hanafi: Afghans Alone Can Rebuild Afghanistan

The graduation ceremony for 3,500 students from the Technical and Vocational Education Authority was held today in Kabul, attended by senior government officials.

Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Administrative Chief of the Prime Minister’s Office, criticized past neglect of the country’s infrastructure and stressed that Afghanistan’s development can only be achieved by its own people, no foreigner will build the country.

Referring to the destruction of infrastructure during previous wars, he stated that no substantial efforts were made over the past two decades, particularly in infrastructure and healthcare. As a result, citizens spend hundreds of millions of dollars annually seeking medical treatment abroad.

He emphasized: “If even one standard hospital had been built in the country, we could consider that progress. But today, our people travel abroad for the most basic illnesses, spending around $400 to $600 million annually from national wealth on treatment abroad.”

Hanafi stressed that the Islamic Emirate is now working to rebuild the country. He said all necessary opportunities for education and skill-building would be provided to the youth so they can serve the nation with knowledge and capability.

“Our full focus is on rebuilding the country,” he said. “From the Amir al-Mu’minin may God protect him, to an ordinary Mujahid, we are all thinking about how to develop this country.”

The governor of Kabul also spoke at the ceremony, noting that Afghans have proven their strength not only on the battlefield but also in education and knowledge, showing great potential in both areas.

Aminullah Obaid, the governor of Kabul, said: “You are responsible for first implementing the laws of the Islamic Emirate upon yourselves, and then presenting and applying them to others.”

It is noteworthy that in this graduation cycle, 3,500 students received diplomas from various fields, including administration and management, under the Kabul Zone of the Technical and Vocational Education Authority.
