Balkh Police Establish 1,000-Member Security Unit in North

Officials from the Balkh Provincial Police Command have announced the formation of a 1,000-member unit under the leadership of the province’s police chief at the northern zone level.

According to these officials, experienced and professional forces have been recruited into this unit, and they will serve in the defense of the country and its people.

Mohammad Issa Wasiq, spokesperson for the Balkh Police Command, said: “This unit is being prepared to serve the people, and experienced Mujahideen will be included in it. We assure all our compatriots that, God willing, with the formation of this unit, security in the northern zone will be better ensured.”

Residents of Balkh have also welcomed the move and expressed their support and cooperation with the unit. They have also called for greater funding and equipment for this military unit.

Meanwhile, military analysts believe that the creation of such units can be effective in carrying out special operations, ensuring security in major cities, and protecting the country’s key borders, and they emphasize the need for better equipment for these forces.

Ghulam Sarwar Niazi, a military analyst, said: “This unit will be formed either as a reserve unit or as an operational force to be used in urgent situations, especially if problems arise at the borders or if unrest occurs in a province.”

It is worth noting that a few days ago the Balkh police chief traveled to Jawzjan province to improve coordination and identify experienced personnel and met with officials there.
