Borders Minister: People Will Defend the System if Called Upon

The Minister of Borders, Tribal Affairs and Frontier Regions says the people of the country are like the army of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and stand alongside the system.

Noorullah Noori, speaking at a public gathering in Laghman province, referred to Pakistan’s airstrikes on civilian targets in Afghanistan and said that if the Islamic Emirate orders it, even elderly citizens would go to the frontlines ahead of security forces.

Mr. Noori said: “These people are our army, and this army is sufficient for the system. We are confident that you stand with the Islamic Emirate, because you have prevailed throughout history. We believe you are with us, as you stood by us during twenty years of hardship, how is it possible that today you would not stand with us against the Punjabis?”

The Minister of Borders and Tribal Affairs also called on people to defend the system, stand against opponents of the Islamic Emirate, and preserve unity.

Meanwhile, as consultations between the Islamic Emirate and Pakistan continue in China, Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister said the country’s delegation is participating in the talks with a solution-oriented approach and believes in resolving issues through understanding and dialogue.

Amir Khan Muttaqi, speaking at a meeting in Kabul, also emphasized the Islamic Emirate’s right to defend Afghanistan’s territorial integrity.

Although details of the talks between Afghanistan and Pakistan have not yet been made public, some Pakistani political figures have stressed the importance of prioritizing diplomacy to resolve ongoing tensions.
