Kabul Agricultural Exhibition Concludes with $200M in Deals

The exhibition of agricultural and livestock products concluded today at Badam Bagh in Kabul.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock stated that tens of thousands of people visited the exhibition, and nine contracts and memorandums of understanding worth 200 million Afghanis were signed among domestic entrepreneurs.
Sadr Azam Osmani, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock, said: “From the start of the exhibition until now, nine contracts and memorandums worth 200 million Afghanis have been signed. We aim to finalize more agreements by the end of the day.”
Sher Mohammad Hatami, spokesperson for the Ministry, told: “High-quality agricultural, horticultural, and livestock products, processed agricultural goods, farming machinery, Afghan saffron, plants and medicinal herbs, irrigation equipment, and handicrafts were displayed in 263 booths at the exhibition.”
Meanwhile, several exhibitors described the event as a valuable opportunity to support and promote domestic products.
Baharuddin, an exhibitor, said: “We are very pleased with the organization of this exhibition, as it provides a good opportunity for people. We encourage people to come and make purchases.”
Ziba, another exhibitor, added: “Our request is for more such exhibitions to be organized across all parts of Afghanistan.”
Visitors also called for an increase in such events.
Bashirullah, a visitor, said: “If we have more exhibitions like this, it will be very beneficial, and we can move from being an import-based country to an export-oriented one.”
Another visitor, Ziaurrahman, said: “Such agricultural exhibitions are truly effective for farmers and those involved in handicrafts.”
It is worth noting that in this four-day exhibition, 56 booths were allocated to women, where various products, especially handicrafts and traditional Afghan clothing—were displayed.
