Signing of a Polymetal Mine Contract in Faryab with an Investment of More Than $24 Million

The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan announced in a press release that a contract for a polymetal mine in the “Sekho” area of ​​Kohistan district of Faryab province has been signed with a mining company.

This contract was signed by Mullah Hedayatullah Badri, the acting head of the ministry, with the “Abu Saeed” Mining Company with a total area of ​​1.12 square kilometers and an investment of $24 million and 332 thousand in the presence of relevant officials.

According to the information provided, the term of this contract has been set at 30 years and the contracting company is obliged to carry out its activities in accordance with the principles and procedures of the mines and the obligations set.

The officials also said that with the implementation of this project, employment opportunities will be provided for about 130 citizens and the royalty of this mine has been set at 16 percent pure gold.
