Badakhshan’s Arghanjkhwah district was captured by the Taliban

Local officials in Badakhshan report the fall of Arghanjkhwah district in the province to the Taliban.

Ahmad Javed Mujaddidi, a member of the Badakhshan Provincial Council, said that Taliban fighters had attacked the district two days ago and that the Taliban had captured the center of Arghanjkhwah district.

He added that security forces had withdrawn from the district due to the lack of reinforcements.

According to Mr. Mojaddedi, a local force and 11 army soldiers were killed in the clashes.
