Uzbekistan donated 1,000 oxygen capsules to Afghanistan

Ministry of Foreign Affairs announces the delivery of 1,000 oxygen capsules from Uzbekistan to Afghanistan to fight Covid-19.
The ministry said in a statement issued today (Saturday, June 12) that as a result of the Foreign Ministry’s efforts to attract assistance and cooperation from countries in the fight against Covid-19 in the country, 1,000 oxygen capsules by the Republic of Uzbekistan in the presence of Esmatullah Irgashov, The Uzbek President’s special envoy for Afghanistan was handed over to the governor of Balkh province this morning in the port of Hairatan.
The Foreign Ministry appreciates Uzbekistan’s assistance and its commitment to cooperate in the fight against Covid-19 in Afghanistan.
The ministry also said that in coordination with other relevant institutions in the country, it is working to conclude contracts with various countries in the region and the world in order to provide oxygen capsules and other equipment necessary to fight Covid-19.
Meanwhile, hospitals in the country are facing a lack of oxygen due to the increase in cases of Covid-19 disease.
