Information Minister: Islamic Emirate Not Afraid of Attacks or Threats

The Islamic Emirate’s Minister of Information and Culture, Sher Ahmad Haqqani, condemned Pakistan’s recent airstrikes, saying the Pakistani military regime should understand that the Islamic Emirate is not afraid and will not retreat in the face of such attacks and threats.

Speaking at a one-day seminar on strengthening journalists’ capacity in Kapisa, Haqqani said the Islamic Emirate had previously defeated forces that, according to him, were equipped with advanced weapons and technology.

Haqqani said: “They martyr our civilians under various pretexts, but they cannot succeed in doing so. Many bombs have fallen on us, and we have become accustomed to bombings, yet we did not surrender even to those who possessed far greater capabilities.”

Kapisa Deputy Governor Asadullah Sinan said: “During the aggression and unjustified attacks by our oppressive neighbors, our journalist brothers showed great sincerity.”

At the event, officials from several institutions and journalists also pointed to existing challenges and called for greater attention to the problems facing the media.

They said limited access to information, economic difficulties, and a lack of job opportunities and training programs are among the challenges affecting media organizations.

Saadullah Salehi, a representative of the Kapisa Journalists Protection Committee, said: “One of the requests made by media officials was to digitalize the license renewal process.”

The Ministry of Information and Culture has launched a series of training seminars across the country to strengthen journalists’ professional capacity.
