US President Donald Trump announced that the ceasefire and understanding agreement with Iran has ended after the recent exchange of attacks and that he has no desire to engage with Tehran.

The US president verbally attacked Iranian officials, saying that they were “evil and vile.” Trump also said that he would talk to American negotiators, but in response to the question of whether talks with Tehran would resume, he emphasized that he did not care and considered the talks a “waste of time.” He also accused Iranian officials of lying.
According to NBC News, on Wednesday, July 8, before meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte on the sidelines of the alliance’s summit in Ankara, Trump said in response to the question whether the ceasefire and understanding with Iran had ended after the recent attacks, that in his opinion the agreement no longer exists.
The US president told reporters: “They (American negotiators) can talk, but I think they are wasting their time.”
Regarding last night’s attacks on Iran, Donald Trump said the US had struck targets in Iran “very strongly.” He noted that the strikes were in response to the missile attacks on ships and were “20 to 120 times” more intense.
Referring to the funeral of former Iranian leader Ali Khamenei, Trump said: “We said go and have your funeral, but yesterday they started firing missiles at ships instead.”
Following last night’s attack by the Revolutionary Guard on commercial ships in the Strait of Hormuz, US Central Command (CENTCOM) targeted “more than 80” positions in Iran. The IRGC also launched new attacks on Kuwait and Bahrain in response.
