Murdian district of Jawzjan fell to the Taliban

Local sources report the fall of Murdian district in Jawzjan to Taliban fighters.

Azizullah Ulfati, a Jawzjan MP, said Taliban fighters had taken over the Mardian district of the province this morning after a fierce clash with security forces.

Mr. Ulfati added that 35 security personnel were killed and wounded in the clash.

According to him, if the reinforcements do not arrive and the officials do not pay attention, there is a possibility that other districts of the province will fall.
