Group of 70 Russian Tourists Visits Panjshir
A group of 70 tourists from Russia has visited Panjshir as part of a trip to Afghanistan.
The tourists said a travel company in Russia had sent them to Afghanistan to see the situation firsthand and learn more about the country’s security conditions and tourism environment.
They praised Panjshir’s natural beauty and its environment for tourism.
Russian tourist Vakrit said: “A company in Russia sent a group of tourists to Afghanistan for tourism and sightseeing. There is a lot of negative coverage about Afghanistan in the media, but the situation is very good.”
Another Russian tourist, Ekaterin, said: “We came to Afghanistan to learn more about its people, history and culture. What we had heard is very different from the current situation. The situation is good and the people are very hospitable. I have not returned home yet, but, God willing, I plan to visit Afghanistan several more times.”
The governor of Panjshir said the province has strong tourism potential and that more facilities have been provided for domestic and foreign visitors.
Panjshir Governor Mohammad Agha Hakim said: “Tourists sometimes even stay for a week, which means there is security here and governance is functioning well.”
According to Panjshir officials, more than **450,000 domestic tourists** and over **500 foreign tourists** have visited the province’s natural and historical attractions since the beginning of the current year.
