People in Khenjan district of Baghlan mobilized against the Taliban

Security officials in Baghlan say people in Khenjan district of the province have mobilized against the Taliban.

Javed Besharat, Spokesman for the Baghlan police, said that hundreds of people in the Khenjan district of the province, led by Jalaluddin Bajgahi, one of the jihadi commanders, greeted the security forces with light and heavy weapons and came to the battlefield.

Meanwhile, Takhar elders announced at a news conference yesterday that a support group had been sent to help security forces, saying that the Taliban could not gain the support of the people through violence.
