The United Nations National Security Council says the Taliban regime is unacceptable in Afghanistan.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hanif Atmar discussed the security situation in Afghanistan with the members of the UN Security Council yesterday evening.

Members of the UN Security Council, including representatives of the United States, Britain, Estonia, and the President of UNAMA, condemned the recent attacks on schools, minesweepers, and innocent civilians.

They also stressed that the Talabani regime was in no way acceptable and that the international community did not support its return in any way. They also reiterated their support for the resumption of meaningful talks that will lead to a ceasefire and lasting peace in Afghanistan.
