Security forces repulsed an attack by Taliban fighters on Bamyan province

Bamyan Police Command says Taliban fighters’ attack on Sighan district of the province was repulsed by security forces.

According to the Bamyan police bulletin, the Taliban fighters carried out a group attack from different directions on the checkpoints of Seighan district which was strongly resisted by the ANP and national security forces and fled the area with heavy casualties.

According to the police chief of Saighan district, the offensive by Taliban fighters started at around 10:00 pm and lasted until 3:00 am.

The Sighan district police chief added that no security forces were harmed in the attacks, but that Taliban fighters suffered heavy casualties.

The Taliban have not yet commented.
