A roadside bomb blast in Kandahar has killed five civilians

Kandahar Police Command reports that 5 civilians were killed in a roadside bomb blast in the province.
Kandahar police spokesman Jamal Nasser Barakzai said a Tunis car had hit a roadside mine on the Arghistan-Kandahar district road.
Mr Barakzai added that five occupants of the car, all civilians, had been killed in the blast.
He claimed the mine had been planted by Taliban fighters.
The Taliban have not yet commented.
