Heavy casualties on the Taliban in the last 24 hours

The Ministry of National Defense reports that 171 Taliban fighters have been killed and wounded in the last 24 hours in 11 provinces of the country.
The ministry said in a statement that 89 Taliban insurgents were killed and 82 others were wounded in clashes and counter-attacks by defense and security forces.
The Taliban were killed and wounded in Kunar, Kandahar, Herat, Farah, Faryab, Samangan, Helmand, Nimroz, Takhar, Kunduz and Kapisa provinces, according to the ministry.
The statement added that 13 mines were discovered and defused by security and defense forces during the clashes, and a large amount of weapons and ammunition of the group were destroyed.
The Taliban have not yet commented.
