US airstrikes on Taliban positions in Helmand

The Ministry of Defense says US forces have launched airstrikes on Taliban positions in Lashkar Gah.

Fouad Aman, deputy spokesman for the Ministry of Defense, said that US forces had launched an air strike on Taliban positions in Lashkar Gah this morning.

According to him, 7 Taliban fighters were killed in the attack and some weapons and ammunition of this group were destroyed.

The Taliban have not yet commented.
