Rumi commemorated on 747th anniversary of Shab-e Aros in Afghanistan

Mevlâna Jalaluddin Rumi-Balkhi, also known as Jalal ad-Din al-Rumi, a man of thought and a Sufi known all over the world for his teachings, has been commemorated on the 747th anniversary of his death.

Turkey Maarif Foundation (TMV) and Yunus Emre Institute (YEE) to Shab-e Aros ceremony organized, jointly Afghanistan Economy Minister Karima Hamid Faryabi, Justice Minister Fazil Ahmad Manawi, Culture Minister Mohammad Tahir Zahir, Higher Education Minister Ghulam Abbas Basir, Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Permanent representative of Afghanistan Ambassador Huseyin Avni Botsalı, TIKA Kabul Coordinator Zühtü Chal, TMV, and Yunus Emre Institute Turkey’s Kabul embassy representatives, teachers and students.

Sema performance

Continuing with the Sema performance performed by the Shuhud-i Arifan Sema group, the ceremony ended with the performance of Mevlana’s poems, a reed Nay and a sketch show.
