Attorney general: Three senators arrested for taking bribes

The attorney general said in a statement that he had arrested three members of the Senate on charges of taking bribes.

The statement from the agency said that members of the Department of Homeland Security and a representative of the Attorney General’s Office had arrested three members of the Senate in a joint operation yesterday (Sunday, the 27th Dec) on charges of taking $ 40,000 in bribes.

The Attorney General also said that the three current members of the Senate had gone to Balkh province to monitor and promote some affairs and were arrested on charges of bribery.

The arrest of the three members of the Senate, who had come to Balkh for investigation, was also confirmed by the governor of Balkh, Mohammad Farhad Azimi, but he did not say anything about the letters of the detainees.

But according to some sources, Mohammad Azam Quyash, Anwar Bashliq and Liaqatullah Babakerkhil are the three members of the Senate who have been arrested in this case.
