The Aqgina-Andkhoi railway is completed and ready for operation

The National Railway Authority has announced that the construction of the Aqgina-Andkhoi railway has been completed and is ready for operation
A statement issued by the agency today (Tuesday, 12rd of January) states that the Aqgina-Andkhoi railway will be inaugurated in the coming days by senior officials of the governments of Afghanistan and Turkmenistan
Construction work on the Aqgina-Andkhoi railway began a year ago in Faryab province under a memorandum of understanding signed between the Afghan Railways and the Turkmen Ministry of Industry and Communications.
According to the statement, the length of this railway is 30 km and its construction cost about 30 million dollars, which was funded from the development budget of the Independent Railway Authority of Afghanistan
Meanwhile, the Herat-Khawaf railway, which connects Afghanistan to the Iranian railway network, was recently inaugurated with the virtual presence of the two presidents.
