Building trust is not created by killing civilians and abducting people from highways

Amrullah Saleh wrote on his Facebook page about the Taliban that building trust is not built by killing civilians and abducting people from highways.

“We cannot be indifferent to the killing of our own people. If the Taliban continue to kill innocent people, members of civil society and carry out indiscriminate bombings, then the release of prisoners will not be on the agenda,” he wrote.

Earlier, Mr. Amrullah Saleh had emphasized that arrested members of the Taliban should be executed, and said that Taliban prisoners thought they would be pardoned and not punished in any case, and that this was the reason for the increase in targeted assassinations in cities.

He said the execution of a number of Taliban detainees was a key solution to the challenge.

But the Taliban have said in response to remarks by the first vice president that they would resort to more violence if detained members of the group were executed.

Meanwhile, members of the government’s negotiating team have said that in recent days, the Taliban have been considering releasing prisoners of war by the United States without ending the war and establishing a ceasefire.
