Thousands took to the streets in Mazar-e-Sharif today to support the release of Abdul Rauf, a nine-year-old boy from Balkh. Protesters are demanding the release of 9-year-old Abdul Rauf from the kidnappers. Mohammad Nabi, the child’s father, was abducted and one of the organizers of the protests said that 100 days had passed since Abdul Rauf was abducted, but that the government had not taken any effective steps to free him. During their demonstrations, the Turkmens chanted “We want justice” and accused some people in the government of being involved in the abduction of Abdul Rauf.
