The chief of staff of the 209th Shahin Corps was assassinated in Balkh

209th Shaheen Corps announced the assassination of the commander of this corps by unknown gunmen in Balkh province.

The announcement of this army corps, which was published today (Monday, 12th April), states that this incident took place at around 6:50 AM today in the Karte Ferdowsi area, near the school of Khaleqdad Shaheed in the fifth district of Mazar-e-Sharif.

According to the statement, an ANA Ranger vehicle was shot by unidentified gunmen, killing Dr. Saleh Mohammad Samim and his driver.

No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the attack.
